The dedicated faculty of the colleges comprising 20 PhD, 40 M.Phil, 25 Research Scholars, and 86 M.A./M.Sc. teachers have been working hard to revive its past glory and to achieve its noble objectives i.e. obedience, loyalty and service through dedication and professional commitment. In 1952, the commodious Shuja-ud-Din Hall was built. In 1972, the college was nationalized. Science Block and College Library were built during the year 1986-87, another new Academic Block was built in 1993-94. M.A. Urdu classes were started in the year 2002. With the increasing number of students, evening classes for the Intermediate level were started in 2006. The college was upgraded to the rank of Post Graduate in the year 2009. In 2010, BS 4-Year Degree Program was introduced and the college was affiliated with Lahore College for Women University, Lahore for BS 4-Year Degree Program.
In 2011, the construction of BS Block was completed. Well-equipped computer labs have been established in 2012 and 2013 by Higher Education Department, Government of the Punjab. With the college’s own funding, two more computer labs have also been established during the years 2014 and 2015. The College secured “W” category in the ranking by Higher Education Commission during the year 2013 and the principal of the college Prof. Farzana Shaheen was selected for foreign visit/training to Australia and Thailand by the Higher Education Commission in 2015.
The college secured 1st position in 4 disciplines in the session 2010 – 2014; 6 in 2011 – 2015; 5 in 2012 – 2016; and 9 in 2013 – 2017. Internet and multimedia facilities have been provided to many departments to give the students and faculty access to advanced sources of knowledge. In every session, each department conducts a series of seminars and workshops apprising the students and faculty of the latest research in theory and practice of different disciplines.
