At Government Islamia Graduate College for Women, Cooper Road, we are dedicated to nurturing both academic excellence and the leadership potential of our students. In proud collaboration with the Pakistan Girl Guides Association (PGGA), our college offers a dynamic platform where young women discover their strengths and learn to contribute meaningfully to society. Under the visionary leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. Fauzia Naz and the dedicated supervision of Senior Guide Leader Dr. Nighat Ara, the guiding program has become a cornerstone of our campus life. To ensure inclusivity, the College Administration fully supports these initiatives by providing complimentary transportation for all off-site training sessions and workshops.
Our senior guides frequently travel beyond the classroom to participate in national training camps in cities like Lahore, Islamabad, and Murree. Adhering to the “Each One, Teach One” philosophy, these students return to lead peer-to-peer workshops, cascading their knowledge throughout the student body. The curriculum is meticulously designed to address modern challenges, encompassing Global Citizenship and SDGs, Women’s Health and Wellness, Leadership Advocacy, and essential Vocational Life Skills.
Beyond skill-building, our guides embody the spirit of “Service Above Self.” Whether responding to natural disasters or social crises, they remain at the forefront of humanitarian efforts, organizing relief funds and volunteering where they are needed most. Recognizable by their distinctive uniform, these young women represent the epitome of discipline and civility. By fostering a deep sense of civic duty and professional ethics, we ensure our graduates emerge not just as degree holders but as empowered, compassionate leaders prepared to serve Pakistan and the world.
